Quirky, sassy and fun. Shawarminator captured me with it's personality even before I had even tried the food. I stumbled upon the website and had a good laugh reading through the history of how it came to be. Yes, the name is definitely connected to Terminator, if only because the owner, multi ethnic, Middle East born (by his own words) Hani Mebar was watching the movie at the time he conceived the idea. From the facebook page I saw that their meat was halaal and Free Range and decided that I needed to make it my business to check this place out.

Hani reckons that South Africans don't really know the difference between Shawarmas or Doners and Kebabs. He decided we would love it if we knew the real thing and proceeded to bring us, Shawarminator to show us the difference. We're used to having our Shwarma (see we even spell it different), filled inside a pita bread. Hani uses a Saj, which is a Lebanese flat bread for his shawarmas. All Meat and vegetables are absolutely fresh, bought from local farms to create the sauces, marinades and garnishes. No bottled stuff, so no MSGs., no GMOs.
