Here's an easy recipe for when you're craving Chinese food but don't want to go out. It's the quintessential Beef with Broccoli: tender strips of steak and crisp broccoli florets in a rich brown ginger and garlic sauce. You don't need a wok -- just a large skillet -- and the ingredients are all easy to find at most supermarkets. Instead of the traditional flank steak, I use a tender flat iron steak. It's a wonderful, albeit lesser known, cut of meat usually sold near the flank and skirt steaks. It's actually the second-most tender cut after the filet -- try it, it makes all the difference! |
