The V&A Waterfront has been around since 1988. Actually that's not entirely accurate. The Waterfront started off with a small jetty, built by Jan van Riebeeck in 1654 as part of his task to establish a refreshment station at the foot of Africa for the Dutch East India Company. No not 334 years ago, but since 1988. And they must be doing something right cos they've stayed the course and are still one of the most popular kids on the V&A block.

La Playa has reinvented itself several times over the years. The menu and decor has changed considerably but one thing is consistent. They always have the biggest variety of cakes and coffee shop goodies that'll make you drool. Their current look is cool and mediterranean, white with green accents. It's a casual and easy place. Good for a quick stop and light meal or a tea time coffee and cake.
