Posted: 23 Oct 2014 02:52 PM PDT Simply Asia is part of Cape Thai Restaurants which also holds Wang Thai and Chai Yo as part of the group. They do quite simply some of the best Thai noodles among other Thai dishes I have ever had. Meals are are hard to pronounce in the authentic Thai so they have devised an easy and clever number system for each of their dishes. The 514 (roasted chilli paste and cashew nut noodles) is by far the most popular and I have yet to find someone who has eaten there who hasn't loved it. They also have great rice dishes and their sweetcorn cakes starter with sweet chilli sauce is absolutely yum. Prices are fairly reasonable and range from R40 for a soup to from R57 to R98 for a main dish. Duck is usually their most expensive and I just spotted a newcomer on the menu, Roasted duck lightly dusted with tempura flour, fried, sliced and topped with a sweet roasted chilli tamarind sauce with broccoli, celery, mushrooms and a portion of fragrant Jasmine rice (or the 267 for short) that sounds too yummy not to head over very soon. |
