Butter Chicken
Prep Time

25 Minutes
Serves
4
Ingredients
- Chicken ½ kg
- Butter 3 tbsp
- Onion 1 medium (chopped)
- Ginger, garlic paste 2 tsp
- Yogurt ½ cup
- Salt ½ tea spoon or to taste
- Black pepper powder 1 tsp
- Red chili powder ½ tsp
- Fresh cream ¼ cup
Cooking Directions
Heat butter in a skillet and stir fry chopped onion until light brown.
Add chicken, fry until color of chicken change. Put on ginger paste, garlic paste and cook about a minute.

Remove from heat and include yogurt; stir, put on heat again. Add salt, black pepper powder and red chili powder. Cover and allow cooking until water evaporates and chicken done.
At the end again remove from heat and add cream, stir and put on heat. Cook about a minute.

Butter chicken is ready to serve.

| Posted: 20 Jul 2014 02:45 PM PDT I found myself in the mall this afternoon thinking I'd head there for a stroll and a bit of window shopping. I was met by a frenzy of Eid shoppers, all vying for new clothes, new shoes and most likely getting in early on the food shopping needed for all the baking that will be happening this week. Eid is one week away which means this blessed month comes to an end. A bittersweet time as the spirit of the month will dwindle and come to an end and a collective, slightly guilty sigh of relief for some as normal eating habits and other indulgences resume. | Posted: 13 Jul 2014 08:12 AM PDT  The tradition of making Boeber, a rich, creamy milky drink with vermicilli, sago, cardomon and cinnamon on the 15th night of Ramadaan and thereafter is rooted in the Malay community of Cape Town, the recipe for which was drawn from their Javanese and Indonesian ties. Where ever it originally came from, we in Cape Town have certainly adopted it as our own. The Indian Koknis in Cape Town for instance have there own name for it. It's called pez, kind of pronounced as pears. But basically the same dish. Some add rose water, some add almonds or pistachios. However you like it, make it your own.
